In a regular butt lift procedure, tiny PMMA microspheres suspended in a biological fluid are injected via a needle as a soft-tissue filler under the skin.
However, in Lygia Fazio’s case, the substances spread throughout her body, causing serious infection. She spent more than three months in the hospital in 2021 to have the PMMA removed from her body. However, that operation failed to fix the problems caused by the injectables.
Lygia’s Statement
Lygia Fazio revealed in an interview in March 2022 that she had the first butt lift in 2013 but her boyfriend at the time was not satisfied with the results. She then had a second “clandestine” procedure by an unqualified surgeon.
She said:
“The product seems to ‘move’ in the body, it goes down to the legs. In my case, it went to the sides. So, I had to have it removed, I had a heart-shaped incision.”

“Four months ago [Dec. 2021] The doctor removed all the silicone and PMMA.”
